If you don't have installed it yet, mybe you should. Use winetricks to easy the installation and setup process. I have evolved this installation process with time.
My installation process was a little bit different than what is described in the how-to section. I've not tested printing, exporting and some other things. This present installation was more clean with less workarounds. Used winetricks to setup as win7 and install vcrun2019 and corefonts in order to avoid some problems (like a crash of the sketchup_webhelper.exe file).Īlthough I noticed a big improvement on wine compared to my old install on an old Ubuntu 18.04 with wine 5. I don't know if there are other issues in that kind of clean installation. But this only happens if you make a direct installation. Opened files I already have (simple and complex ones), changed things, saved.Īt least a crash of the sketchup_webhelper.exe file on every move you make of the mouse on sketchup screen. I've made a very basic usage, tested the main tools I use, working with layers and so on. You can google for how to disable SIP if removing the code signature isn’t enough to get it working.Everything that I've tested works fine, including modelling, downloading models from 3DWarehouse, installing plugins and so on. (I didn’t test SketchUp with SIP enabled). One (maybe?) important detail is that I have System Integrity Protection (SIP) disabled on my machine. I’m not sure - but I’m glad to have SketchUp working again! My guess is that the code signing certificate format changed in one of the newer macOS versions. With all that done, I was able to launch SketchUp under Rosetta!
